Privacy policy
Peelgood does not collect any data about you. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third‑party code in the app. Nothing about your board is ever sent to us, and we have no way to see it.
What stays on your phone
Your notes, stickers, rewards, the points and the photographs you take are kept in the app's own storage on your phone: a few files and some pictures. Like any app's data, they are included in your phone's own backups if you have those turned on.
A photograph is taken only when you choose to add one, for a redeemed reward's polaroid or as the photo of the two of you in settings, with the camera or from your library. It is shrunk to at most 1200 pixels and saved fresh, so none of the original's hidden details, such as where it was taken, come with it. It is never added to your photo library, and the original stays there untouched.
If you share your board
You can invite someone to your board. When you do, the board is stored in your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, and the person you invite gets a copy on their phone that stays in step with yours. Apple keeps it under the iCloud terms and privacy policy. We cannot read it: it is your iCloud, not ours.
The app talks to iCloud only when you open its settings or once a board is shared. The first time you open settings with iCloud signed in, it asks Apple for your iCloud account's identifier and keeps it. From then on each sticker you stick and each reward you cash in is marked with that identifier, so an export can say who did what. The mark is never shown on the board. If you export, it appears as a name in the spreadsheet, and as the identifier itself inside the copy of the board in the same zip.
The other person sees everything on the board, including every photograph, and can change any of it. Each of you sees the other's name as Apple provides it from your Apple Accounts. The board also remembers the time zone it was set up in, so both phones agree on when a week starts.
The invitation is a link that goes out through Apple's own share sheet, to whoever you send it to. That sheet lets you choose whether only the people you invite can open the link or anyone who has it; choose the first, and keep the link between you. If you have added a photo of the two of you, it is the picture on that link.
Taking it with you
Opening settings prepares a zip of your history as a spreadsheet, every photograph, the photo of you two and a copy of the board itself. It is handed to the share sheet only when you tap Export, and goes only where you send it.
Leaving
Delete everything, in settings, takes the board off your phone and keeps it for 30 days in case you change your mind. The next time you open the app after that, it is removed. If you were the one who shared the board, deleting it also removes it from your iCloud and ends the sharing, or does so the next time you open settings if you were offline. The other person keeps whatever is already on their phone; we have no way to remove it from there. If you joined someone else's board, deleting leaves it, and what you added stays with them.
Deleting the app removes everything on that phone straight away. A board you put in iCloud by sharing stays there until you delete it in the app or remove Peelgood's data in your phone's iCloud storage settings, and is offered back to you in settings if you reinstall.
Permissions
The app asks for the camera only when you take a photo, for a polaroid or of the two of you. Choosing a picture from your library goes through Apple's picker, which hands over just the one you chose. It never reads your contacts or your location, and it never shows notifications: a shared board updates quietly in the background.
Children
Peelgood is made for two adults who share a life. It is not directed at children, and since nothing about anyone reaches us, we hold nothing about a child or anyone else.
This website
These pages are served by GitHub Pages and load nothing from anyone else: no analytics, no cookies and no fonts from a third party. GitHub sees the ordinary details of a request, such as your address on the internet, under its own privacy statement.
Where that leaves the law
Because we hold nothing about you, there is nothing for us to give you access to, correct or erase. Export and delete are in your hands, in the app. The only personal information we ever receive is what you send us by email, and we keep it only to reply. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have none to sell. If you are in Australia you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, and elsewhere to your local privacy regulator, though we would rather you wrote to us first.
Changes
If the app ever starts to do more with your data than this page says, this page changes first, and the date at the top with it. A list of what changed lives at the bottom of this page.
